The meaning of being human
As we continue to focus on identity issues, perhaps one of the biggest question mankind has to answer is.....
What Does It Mean to Be Truly Human?
Watch the video featuring Jefferson Bethke (we have watched him in class before) as he tries to answer this very question. Give me your thoughts in at least 50 words by Sunday 3/1
To be truly a human being is to be truly known and as he said in the video if youre hiding you cannot be known. we were not created to be in isolation and loneliness it is to encourage our brothers and sisters and pick them up and be open and honest with one another. To love is to be vulnerable, by giving someone your heart you are giving them an opportunity to break it and but also you are giving them an opportunity to bring joy into your life. Chance that we all called to answer.
ReplyDeleteTo be truly human is to be truly knowing someone who hides can'te be no, God created us to know each other and god is the father of the communication, when we hides somethings we cann't hided forever, we should be honest to ourselves and knowing what we doing. Also we make ourselves to be in isolation and loneliness, to stop talk to another and try to hiding the things you don't want people to know. Stop puting ourselves in the circle, walk out the zone and talk to another people and let them knowing your truth heart, also we can win a trust from another. To be a human we should communica with another, to knowing them and let them know you as well.
ReplyDeleteTo be human as defined in the bible its said that we are made in God's image and that we share some characteristics with the man who made us. We are supposed to be a spiritual being that loves, trusts, and cares for others that in the bible are our brothers and sisters through Christ. As his children we are to listen to his word, if we all listened to his word this world would be a better place for all of us. But because we are human and God loves us so much he gave us free will to choose. When we sin we fall short but he gave us a way out to be forgiven and to repent and be with him once more.
ReplyDeleteTo be truly human is to be truly someone who hides and can't be known.Some things that makes us truly humans is to be in a real,authentic and honest community.God created us to need,love encourage be honest to each other and the only way that could happen its if we are open to each other.Hell makes us strips ourselves from humanity .We were created in the image of God,so there's nothing to be ashamed of who are.We hide in the mask of shame guilt and in hopes to protect ourselves but we fail to see that it blocks our ability to experience true love and joy.To love is to be vulnerable.
ReplyDeleteIn this video in agreed with most of the things he said it is true we need to be more honest with each other we need to be loving to one another we need to stay connected with one other and we must depend on one another. Wanting to be like God s the definition of being human because we were made in his image and his image alone
ReplyDeleteIn my mind, being truly human involves being with others and lifting them up rather than being by yourself and keeping knowledge to just one person, spread the gospel with other people and help others to be truly human as well. God created us to spread his word and to give him praise, and that's what we should do.
ReplyDeleteBeing Human is being dependent on each other. Someone should not think that they can do everything on their own. Everybody needs help and needs to communicate with each other in a open way. Communication needs to be face to face and not just social media status updates or comments to pictures. Most communication comes not jut through words but also through signs in body language and tone, which can't be expressed electronically.
ReplyDeleteTo be human is to be vulnerable. We are created to love each other and to need each other but that only happens when we are open with each other. We are created in the image of god and god is a community depending on one another The father , the son and the holy spirit all act as one and to be human is to be the same. When you open your heat to other , you may get rejected and get hut but joy is at stake but i don't go along with that because why let your guard down and just get your heart broke. but i agree when he said locked your heart up and when its locked up it changes , it wont be broken but it wont be unbreakable and that is what it means to be truly human.
ReplyDeleteTo be truly human, i believe , by watching this video is that everyone tries their hardest to hides something about themselves. The only way to be able to handle all these problems is to be able to open up to other people and allow them to help us and love us and comfort us through all our struggles. Human beings are vulnerable creatures, were vulnerable for love and help and comfort but some people rarely open up. I agree that if you lock your heart up it changes and it won't be broken but it also won't be unbreakable and all this is is what being human really means. To be vulnerable and want help but be scared to open up.
ReplyDeletetruly human hmm i believe it means we should not hide our fears or faults from our fellow humans because like in the video we are supposed to be a community and we can not be that if we do not show our true selves to one another so we can be truly human
ReplyDeleteto be truly human, i think that one needs to accept their flaws and to work on them, i know for sure that i have flaws and i've accepted the fact that i need to work on them. we need to stop trying to hide something about ourselves. we need to be vulnerable, we need to be open, we need to be transparent just like he said in the video. we were made to spread the gospel of Christ, thats what God intended us to do, we need to do that to lift others up and help them in their time of need. thats what i think being human means.
ReplyDeleteAfter watching this video I feel as if being truly human starts when we learn to be completely and utterly honest with ourselves and those around us. To be human is to struggle and to be honest with God and those care for about that struggle. To be human is to be willing to be open and vulnerable and to want others to be open with us. I thought it was so deep when he talked about the picture C.S. Lewis painted of hell. He said that hell is where each person is isolated and miles away from each other and that if you're in hell it is because you chose that. That reminded me that to be human is to have other humans. People need other people and to have other people we must learn to be open and honest with them. Overall, I really enjoyed this video.
ReplyDeleteI think that to be truly human we have to accept the truth, our flaws, and all of the problems that are included in life. This video makes me think that everyone should be more open to one another, trusting, caring, and loving for one another in order to be truly human.
ReplyDeleteI think to be truly human we must except like how god made us for one. Then i think people should be more caring towards other human beings, because we are so creul to each other.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, I think to be truly human, you have to embrace what your weaknesses are, and except who you really are, how God made us to be. Everyone is not perfect, so why try to be something you are not? We need to just except it. We also need to work as a community, work as one. We also need to be open with our feelings in my opinion, and not try to disguise our feelings. Just be yourself.
ReplyDeleteTo be truly human we must trust in God and know that we are not perfect people. Humans are dependent on each other. He also said in the video of that if we are hiding than we cant be known. God created to be his missionaries and that's what we need to be doing.
ReplyDeleteTo be truly human we must accept that God made us who we are for a reason. A lot of people want to be like someone else because they feel as if that other person is "perfect" and nobody is perfect. In the video he said that if we're hiding then we can't be known, we've got to stop running. God created us to do his work and that's what we should do instead of running or trying to be something and/or someone we're not.
ReplyDeleteI believe that being fully and completely human we need to devote ourselves to God especially because if things were left up to us as individuals it would be awful. Of course it is great to be ourselves because we aren't perfect but we also need to make sure that our principals follow in line of what God has in store for us.

W need to stop hiding things maybe that doesn't involve lying but just not tiptoe around our issues so much as we do now.
